Our works consisted of extensive slab breakout over five floors and to construct two blockwork new lift shafts therein. The lift shafts and base required a temporary works solution to ensure the existing base remained structurally sound. Our works included structural steel infills throughout the building to allow for additional loadings planned by the end user. We were also appointed to carry out drainage reconfiguration and all necessary builders works including screeding, diamond drilling, track sawing and metal decking infills.
The challenge on the project was the found in the many works faces exposed over a large area. We overcame this challenge by having daily work briefings with our construction team, from project manager to general operative, to ensure each member was clear on the tasks to complete and to the standard expected. Weekly project meetings with the Principle Contractor were carried out to update them on programme along with early notification of potential issues going forward. This ensured a collaborative effort to complete our scope of works.
